Applications

Clover resilient seat socket flange gate valves are suitable for use in pressure and non-pressure water supply and sewerage applications. Gate valves are used to isolate flow within pipeline sections, pipeline equipment and offtakes.

Typical applications include;

Gate valves should not be used for the purposes of throttling or adjusting flow.

Clover resilient seat socket flange gate valves are manufactured with a standard nominal pressure range of PN16 (1,600kPa).

Coating

Clover resilient seat socket flange gate valves are manufactured with a thermally bonded polymeric coating using a fluidised bed process in accordance with the requirements of AS/NZS4158 “Thermal-bonded polymeric coatings on valves and fittings for water industry purposes”.

End Connections

Clover resilient seat socket flange gate valves are manufactured with one flanged connection and one socket end connection.

Flange end connections are raised face type in accordance with AS/NZS4087 Fig. B5.

Socket end connections are T-type socket in accordance with AS/NZS2280 “Ductile iron pipes and fittings”.

Sockets are compatible for jointing to spigots of AS/NZS2280 Ductile iron pipe and Series 2 spigots of AS/NZS1477 PVC-U, AS/NZS4441 PVC-O, AS/NZS4765 PVC-M and AS3518 ABS pressure pipes.

Sockets are also compatible for jointing to spigots of Series 1 AS/NZS1477 PVC-U and AS/NZS4765 PVC-M pipes when fitted with a Series 1 EPDM transition lip seal.

Clover resilient seat socket flange gate valves are supplied as standard with EPDM elastomeric dual hardness seals in accordance with AS1646 “Elastomeric seals for waterworks purposes” suitable for Series 2 PVC and CIOD pipes. Optional Series 1 EPDM transition lip seals are available upon request.

Sockets have minimum deflection angles in compliance with AS/NZS2280 “Ductile iron pipes and fittings” Table 3.2.

  • Gate valves shall be Clover resilient seated socket flange type conforming to AS2638.2
  • Gate valves shall close in an anti-clockwise / clockwise direction
  • Gate valves shall be fitted with a keycap / handwheel
  • Gate valve allowable operating pressure shall be 1,600kPa
  • Protective coatings of gate valves shall be thermally applied polymeric type in accordance with AS/NZS4158
  • Flange shall be raised face type in accordance with AS/NZS4087 Fig. B5
  • Socket connection shall be fitted with an EPDM seal compatible with Series 2 pipe / Series 1 pipe
