Polyethelyne (PE) pipes offer durable and flexible solutions for a wide range of applications.

Polyethylene piping is resistant to corrosion in all ground conditions and its flexibility allows it to withstand ground movements. No protective layers or finishes are required.

  • Size Range DN16 to DN1600.

  • Pressure Range PN10 and PN16.

  • Free from corrosion.

  • No protective layers or finishes required.

  • Can be used in trenchless applications.

  • Can be fusion welded.

Overview

Within the pipeline industry, polyethylene pipes are commonly known as HDPE or high-density polyethylene.

While this terminology is widely used, it generally refers to a specific type of pipe that is used within applications that require resistance to high temperatures. This includes the management of kitchen waste or commercial drainage systems. The product composition is often tempered during the manufacturing process to allow for its heat resistance.

Due to these properties, HDPE is largely used in commercial plumbing.

Our supply of polyethylene pipe is comprised of MDPE. MDPE or medium density polyethylene is the compound that is most widely used within water reticulation, trunk drainage, rising mains or domestic cold water applications.

This makes MDPE ideal for civil applications, commercial infrastructure, and water supply projects, including trunk mains. This type of PE pipe is also widely used within trenchless applications due to its high shock resistance and superior strength. Conveniently available in coils and long lengths, PE pipe is a common choice for pipe bursting applications.

Polyethylene pipe systems can be fusion or butt welded, so there is no risk of leaking as a result of joint distortion.

With trenchless technology becoming increasingly prevalent throughout the civil industry, there is an increasing need to repair aging systems. Relining existing piping with MDPE is a proven and incredibly effective solution.
